Saint Petersburg and Moscow for a week in February - what an adventure ! Of course it was pretty cold (approx -10; not too bad!) but the sight of the Kreml and Red Square, Erimitage and all those amazing beautiful building makes this only second important. The only problem was taking pictures when your hands are numb. A couple of days Moscow, staying in a crazy hostel - more a private appartment filled with beds and matresses - the owner sleeping in the kirchen on the floor...weird! But cheap and pretty central. Moscow is amazingly expensive - whenever you go, make sure you take enaugh money to still enjoy the city. After two days sightseeing here we took the overnight train (1 class!) to Saint Petersburg - what a city! It was snowing and it was pretty windy but beautiful. We stayed in a nice and clean B&B very central. After 2 days sightseeing in St Petersburg we headed back in Moscow (again by train - this time during the day) - after another day we took our plane back to Frankfurt. It was a short trip but an insight into Russia, russian people and habits - and food as well as a taste of vodka...
This was only a first and short trip for 2008 - whats comming up next ? BALI in June !!!
